The Australian and New Zealand Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ANZIAM) conference is the premier annual meeting in Australia and New Zealand, where leading, as well as young, applied mathematicians gather to exchange ideas to promote and advance the application of mathematics to science, engineering and industry. In 2016, the ANZIAM conference will be held in Canberra at the QT Canberra Hotel from the 7th – 11th February. Learn more about business opportunities.
From recent meetings there have been sessions that have been devoted to epidemiology and disease control, pest management, ecology, population modelling, biosecurity, bushfire modelling, numerical and statistical analysis applied to economics and risk analysis, and many other areas of science, engineering and industry.
ANZIAM is the professional association for industrial and applied mathematics in Australia and New Zealand and typically around 250 applied mathematicians attend the conference, of which approximately 150 are research and teaching academics, and 100 are PhD students.
